5 – A Premise of Understanding God’s Feasts

To ensure we are all on the same page moving forward, we take a look at how we view God’s Feasts to gain a better understanding.

Understanding The Purpose of God’s Feasts

Given by God for a reason:

  • They represent a Framework, Grand Design, Blueprint of His “plan of salvation”.
  • Prophecy is given structure through the understanding of God’s Feasts.
  • God’s Feast system is our “schoolmaster” to lead us to Christ. Galatians 3:24
  • They show the chronological sequence of God’s plan in a logical order.

Just as we observe God’s Feast in their “appointed times”, their fulfillments are sequential, chronological. Ephesians 1:10

Three Traditional Perspectives of God’s Feasts

  1. Ceremonial Feast System given as a ”shadow”, Colossians 2:16-17 NIV, Hebrews 10:1-18
  2. Israel “fulfilled” God’s Feasts as an example (“type”), 1 Corinthians 10:1-4
  3. The “Historical/Prophetic” time-line:
  • Jesus fulfilled the reality of His first three Feasts circa 31 AD (History).
  • Jesus will fulfill the remaining Feasts in the future (Prophetic).

Later, we will see that there are other “fulfillments” provided to us as additional examples.

They Are Perfect & Detailed

God’s Feasts Have Numerous Fulfillments

As we move forward, we will see that God’s Feasts have NUMEROUS fulfillments that we can learn from and APPLY in our own lives.

These fulfillments occur at different levels, times and time-spans – The larger framework.

The fulfillments are connected in particular ways.

To Be Friends of Christ

I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father. John 15:15 AMP

To Be Like Christ

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2 NKJV
