We have not grown the Aoibheann’s First fig variety, but The Fig Hunter was kind enough to send us a sample.
I’ve learned from the Burkes since the tasting that this may be an edible caprifig and may also be persistent.
Since we had so many varieties from the Adriatic fig family, and our JH Adriatic was in a poor location, we had it slated for the chopping block. HOWEVER, it became LOADED with figs in 2025, and I couldn’t bring my self to get rid of it.

Easton Vasilika is a very good fig variety. However, we have many Adriatics and the tree was in the way of another project, so it’s gone.
The Dominick fig variety is an excellent Mt Etna, but it was just way too far from the house to keep up with, so it’s been culled.
Think The Bible is too complicated? Then think like a child.
Though Black Mission is a very good commercial variety, it is a somewhat boring fig for the home orchard. So, we have culled it.
