As I’m retiring to spend more time with family, I’m greatly reducing our fig varieties, to just some of our favorites. We were at well over 400 fig varieties. Currently, we are at 26.
The 2022 Arctic Blast made some of our fig culling decisions for us. Then we had the 2024 Polar Vortex come through, with similar results. We may re-acquire some of those varieties, but the decision to replace a cultivar is much easier than the one to cull.

One of our favorites!
We have found Albacor Comuna to be a much less productive than many of our other varieties. It’s actually a very good fig, but I hope I don’t regret having to let this one go.

The Andreva fig variety seems like just another member of the Black Mission fig family, so we bailed on it.
