We have not grown the Jolly Rancher fig variety, but The Fig Hunter was kind enough to send us a sample.
Not sure if this is a common fig type, but it is very tasty. I suspect it is even better when ripened in the heat. Tiny, but mighty. If it’s common, it’s on my wish list.
What does Psalm 119:105 mean to you? How have you come to take it that way? Is there another, better, way to take it?
As I’m retiring to spend more time with family, I’m greatly reducing our fig varieties, to just some of our favorites. We were at well over 400 fig varieties. Currently, we are at 26.
We had just re-located our LSU O’Rourke late in the 2022 season, which made it susceptible to being killed by the 2022 Arctic Blast. Even though it’s an official LSU variety, we just don’t feel the need to replace it, as we have so many other early and much more flavorful varieties.
Though the Kesariani fig variety is very cold hardy and productive, it was in a poor location and I have nicer berry figs than another Mt Etna.
A unique honey fig, with dried pineapple🍍 & light banana🍌 flavor when fully ripe.
