We’ve never been big fans of the California Brown Turkey family of figs, but they are grown widely for commercial production. So, we thought we’d try some CBT’s purchased from the grocery store.
Fantastic butterscotch flavor!
We have found Albacor Comuna to be a much less productive than many of our other varieties. It’s actually a very good fig, but I hope I don’t regret having to let this one go.
A truly premium fig variety.
I’m still unsure that this variety is true to type. Sometimes the figs look like others’ pix, sometimes not. But I’m hanging onto it for now.
We have culled Aldo’s Red, as we could tell no difference between it and Brooklyn Dark.
Maybe our favorite Adriatic fig variety.
We love unique fig varieties, and this fig is unlike any other fig we have tried.
We have culled Ciccio Nero, as it like many of our other Mt Etna varieties.
