Amen’s Citron (TFH-0455)

The Amen’s Citron fig variety never ripened any figs. They would just drop or not ripen before frost, so we bailed on it.

Amen’s Citron Fig Variety Features

  • There are early reports that AC is a common fig type, which does NOT require caprification, but we have not yet confirmed this
  • #0455 of The Fig Hunter fig collection
  • Still quite rare
  • Large figs
  • Light seed crunch
  • Vigorous grower
  • Fruity sweetness, with citrus notes

Amen’s Citron never produced for us, but this is what David has to say about it:

This delicious fig weighs between 114g and 129g, on our certified scale. Amen’s Citron is very juicy, with an interior that can be scooped out and used immediately as jam. It has a fruity sweetness, with citrus notes that become more forward as you get closer to the eye of the fig. It bears a thin skin that melts away as you bite in to the fruit, and a surprisingly light seed crunch. You will find beautiful color variations on this fig, with greens, to grayish purple, striping, and sugar cracking.
