Emerald Strawberry
Emerald Strawberry is one of the best of the Atreano family of fig varieties, but I prefer the more intense flavor of the Adriatic figs, so we culled it.
Emerald Strawberry Fig Variety Features
- A common fig type, which does NOT require caprification
- A member of the Atreano fig family
- #143-36 of the UCR fig collection
- DFIC 48 of the UCD fig collection
- Produces a breba crop
- Large figs
- Very productive
- Fast growing
- Great fruity, light strawberry flavor
Though it did have some die-back, our ES survived the 2022 Arctic Blast surprisingly well. ES can take on Adriatic fig family qualities in hot, dry weather, but usually more of an Atreano variety.
